Hmm cewe chines

Even for those who regard travel and exploration as an essential part of life, there’s no getting around the fact that it’s often expensive: All those costs for transportation, lodging, food and everything else add up quickly. Fortunately for us penny-pinching travel buffs, some destinations are cheaper — sometimes much cheaper — than others.

A new Bing Travel slide show presents our top 15 recommendations for travel on the cheap. Leading the pack is India, where you can get a budget hotel room for less than $10, a meal for $2, or a beer for $1.25. Close behind are nations such as Laos, where you can travel comfortably on $35 a day; Honduras, whose culinary specialty, the baleada, comes two for a dollar; Poland, one of Europe’s cheapest options; and Morocco, whose famed mint tea runs around 65 cents.

Where have you traveled cheaply, and which destinations do you believe are the world’s cheapest? Share your thoughts with fellow travelers in the comments section.
